Go Jack!

I don't want to make it seem like I'm totally obsessed with TV shows, but 24 really is getting rather exciting. But I'm getting rather annoyed with the way the TV channels try and drag you into watching the next program either by not showing any adverts between shows and rushing straight into the next one, or tempting you with "Scenes from next week's all new 24" after the break. I have to be strong though, and switch off immediately. My TV schedule is full enough already.

Are you on the fourth series over there?

Fifth! Crazy isn't it? And I just read that Keifer has signed up for three more...

This indicates another problem with American TV shows - they don't know when to stop. All the best British shows have very few episodes.

Yeah. Also the typical length of a British `TV season' is about 6 or 8 episodes, in contrast to 24 or 25 in the States.

Maybe there was a TV show here like `24', but because it was called `8', or maybe `Afternoon' it just never took off....

I think most series of 24 are only 16 episodes long. Which suggests that Claire isn't getting her money's worth.

Claire: at the end of which series did Jack fake his own death? Because we're on the one after that.

Henry, what on earth are you talking about? They all have 24 episodes. The episodes just happen to only be 45 mins long so maybe it only makes 16 hours worth.

You're on series 5 too then. I hope no-one reading is planning on watching series 4 anytime soon...

Oh yes, so they do. I think I was confused by series 2 starting at 8am. But it is very confusing watching them in Israel where there are no ad breaks, so every episode ends after three quarters of an hour.

Someone once told me they started Season 2 at 8am in order to have more daylight hours in the series.

This from Post Secret seems relevant.

Oh yes, we definitely love Jack. But have just seen Keifer's new film, The Sentinel, and it's shit. Oh well.
