They don't do duvets
As far as I can gather, the average American won't have a duvet on their bed. They'll have sheets, blankets, and a "comforter". I tend to associate sheets and blankets with hotels or my Grandma's house. Odd.
This is not a series of rants about America. Just a number of observations about those little niggling differences between the USA and the UK.

I'd like to propose a subject for your blog. Could you comment on whether you have witnessed or experienced any persecution of 'left-wing' academics, as seems to be happening in UCLA and other places? There was an interesting article in today's Guardian about it.
You mean you don't want to talk about duvets?
Duvets are all well and good, but you can't make an apple pie bed with them.
No post from Claire yesterday.
Is she a `left-wing' academic? Has she been persecuted by being prevented from blogging?
Perhaps the absence of a post is actually a clever response to Pediment's request.
