Unwelcome?

Wyoming turns out to be a unwelcoming state. That is, it is so far the only state into which I have driven which has not had huge signs such as 'Wisconsin welcomes YOU', or 'Welcome to Montana!!' in crazy state-shaped signs across the highway. Maybe this is why it is the least populated state in the country...

Wyoming has 4 people per square mile. They have more antelope than people. And my father lives there. There isn't much to do in Wyoming except to drink and shoot stuff. I should know because I spent a good bit of time there and well, that is pretty much all we did (I shot at wooden targets). My Dad carries a gun around in his pants wherever he goes and sometimes he gets so drunk he forgets where he leaves his gun and you have to remind him that it is in his pants.

Did you meet any residents of Wyoming? Do you have anything to say about them?

We did, actually. In Evanston. Of all places.

But the grass was pale and the sky was grey. And the time that we spent there was less than a day.

What about fences of wood? Did you understand their use?

They roll across prairies so grand. But they hold nothing out and they hold nothing in... so, no, not really.

It's a square state, so it would have been a square sign?
